Now i understand why Ronaldo is so fat. My parents took me out to some Vibe @ Hotel Meritus this evening. Posh hotel, opulent you might say. I'm really not used to eating out at such an up-town place, much less having people serve me. But there its like a Brazilian meat-lover's paradise. Every 2 mins there'd be a brazilian chef who'd approach us with this huge skewer of meat and ask if we wanted some. Tried sausage, lamb, pork, mutton, chicken, fish, beef all the rou. Gah and one of the more exotic fares was chicken heart. When the guy came back with it i thought: "wtf did they do with the meat how come its so small?" Then when he told me it was chicken heart, i went orrhh thats why. What's it taste like you ask? Tastes like chicken (duh), just creepier.

I think the highlight of this restaurant is that it has this giant 4-tiered chocolate fountain in the middle of the room, and its surrounded by this HUGE selection of fruits, nuts, cakes and marshmAllows (eme: BURP!) My dad actually thought it was a vase ... right. Wahhah i had a fun time skewering fruits and drenching them in chocolate its actually not thick you know; the water inside the fruit helps to stop the chocolate flavour from becoming overwhelming. Very nice all you can eat; no wonder Wong Ah Yoke recommended this place. But at $42/ you'd better starve yourself beforehand. My stomach's going to explode.

Sometimes i feel that we try too hard. Someone once told me: "It's not about winning, but the margin". Haha but seriously, i get rather emo when ppl try so hard to prove something that they push themselves to the limits and beyond. Gah Ele and Jiahui i salute you ^^. And to all the other shooters who ran (or were just spectating and ended up running too), you guys are the best buddies i could ever hope for.

I think that the relay taught us that even tho there might be god-like creatures in our midst, most of us are really only human. We feel pain, anxiety, despair, nervousness, haha but that didnt stop us from trying anyway. ^^ It's a humbling experience imo to find out that we might be at the top of our field in shooting, but there are still so many aspects of life where we can learn from failure, and sometimes it takes something like this to make ppl go "oh so thats where i'm lacking". That ability to recognise weaknesses in oneself, to be humble and willing to accept defeat, haha that means a lot to me. Thanks for showing me that fighting spirit.

Haha so i had to leave after the guys' relay coz i was running late for Ballad Under the Stars @ fort canning. Rushed there by taxi OMG my bill came up to $10. DAMN YOU peak hour surcharge. Still made it on time tho, and sat with the rest of the class on the hill overlooking the stage. Really lucky that it didnt rain, otherwise there wouldve been some stampede. It was more like "Ballad under the Star" since there was only one star in the sky, along with this crazy ufo thingy that would rise up in the sky in the distance from time to time then disappear again. I dun think i'm the kind who appreciates the arty farty things in life, coz i found myself tuning out halfway thru the performances, not that it wasnt interesting but i just cannot appreciate dance when i'm playing on tabby's hp, talking with the twins, and watching "dative bonds" forming between mr. wong and his *erhem* companion.

And after the entire performance, our class left and walked and walked and walked, saying goodbye to some ppl along the way and making our way to The Durian. Wah and we spent 2 hours at the outdoor hawker centre playing chess until 11.30. 3 chess sets, 6 ppl playing at a time. Seriously i think that's what we all have in common. Dunno what the other diners mightve thought about that haha. Maybe 50 years in the future when we all ah peks might go back there for rematch. :P Whew tired.

Madness at my place... The day before yesterday hamster tried to eat smaller hamsters. Yesterday maid went bonkers and went to report to the police, coming up with baseless accusations. Luckily there were witnesses... So the ****ing maid got owned. Seeing her first story die, she came up with another one saying that she was denied food, and when the policeman asked her why she is so plump, she replied that she drank a lot of water >_>. Sent her back today. Didn't know what happened, before yesterday she was still ok. Lesson learnt: Never employ maids >_>

Don't know what had gotten into me today, in a very cheery mood, smiled a few times for no apparent reason and laughed at the slightest joke. Anyway... Boring day today, 3 lectures... 2 sciences and maths. Really happy that we aren't doing calculus, really hated that. Can't understand chapter 8, so gotta pay extra attention during next lecture. Bio lecture couldn't be better, tons of notes to copy, and i sincerely pray that I can understand my handwriting when it comes to typing it down on computer.

Still have Chem tutorial 10 and PW to do...

Wow today could not have been more exciting and tiring. Spent the first half of my day wasting away in the comp labs during PW lesson. As you guys can probably see from the state of my tagboard, the lesson was not wasted. Time you enjoyed wasting was not time wasted, as mam always says .. =)

After school i was like hoping to be able to take the GP test before rushing down to help out at the range. But dear Mrs Toh forgot to pass the paper to the receptionist before she left for her lesson and i was left outside the staff room (@$(*!! ing for 1 hour + with yeeying before she came back and apologised. Rawr so i have to do the test tml. Great >< style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);">color combos for the decorative ornaments, Ian Wern trying his best but failing at crowd control, me freaking out when mighty Bayley fell to the bottom of the heap during Snakes and Ladders. Why why why its so unfair. Haha so i went off for frisbee halfway thru, and that was fun, except for the part where our team lost to HH and MR, but oh well its just a game after all.

It was quite exhilarating to see the contestants of the adventure race rushing toward the finishing line on the track. haha even saw ele and fong finishing off. Yay got a hug from ele who was like soaking wet from swimming 200 m in the pool. You the man run 3.2 km, canoe and swim. I think i would've died from heart palpitations halfway thru.

Whee and the club ended the day with a dinner at j8. I swear that yoshi cheats your money. Dowan to go back there again. Still so hungry and there's hw to be done. Cya!

First thing in the morning at 6.55am... 2.4km run! Yay. Already got an E for NAPFA, so no point going for 21 point and getting bronze in the end >_>

So... Took my own sweet time... jogging leisurely... when at the end of the 5th round, my teacher called out to me "10:50". I was like !?!! Picked up speed, and my ended up with 13:12... Yucks. Even my Sec 1 timing was better (12:02) >_>

Sweated like mad, went to classroom to cool myself down, then realised that civics was at hall. Had to rush there, and still, was late for it. Just got reminded that we have 62 days left before promos, so have to work hard for it. Pretty boring day... and in PE, played handball, pretty much got owned by Justin's team. Their team was throwing the ball so damn hard at me (the keeper) that i started to flinch whenever they tried to score. Result? Numerous goals for them.

Back at home, 20 minutes ago, my big hamster started destroying one of the smaller ones. Bought two small hamsters on Saturday... Nothing happened till today. That hamster bled like mad, damn poor thing. Isolating both of them for now.

Have lots of stuff to rush, so.... gotta run.

Haha today i spent like 4 hours wasting away at J8. Was with wil and his class celebrating teddy's bday. His class is the bomb, so crazy so funny. We were at crystal jade and wil was like making funny noises and everyone was so loud and exuberant until all the diners were practically staring at us like we were mental patients.

Then after lunch still not enuf had to go swenson's for dessert.

Our group was like how bizarre. Two ppl were locked in a never-ending hand hold, 1 was hugging a teddy bear, 3 were talking at the top of their voices. LOL dunno wad to say. If only everyone's class was so crazy. And i ended up sharing this mega big choc fudge sundae with wil. wth wth there goes my diet plan.

Ay tml's IHC and we still havent got the decor up yet. Wil told me can be done tml but there's still admin stuff! Haha still got GP test to deal with but i'll prolly still be in time to help out with the administrative work/ decorations/ coaching. Everyone have fun with all your respective IHC competitions!

Rawr today really started out bad for me. My computer's graphics card gave up on me and its like only 2.5 years old! Darn you MSI... So i had to detach all my comp cables and lug the massive thing down to Sim Lim Square where the repairman told me that there was no hope of survival for the card. So...resisting tears, i had to put it down.

In the end my mum helped me buy this crappy card which is way outdated and still costs a bomb $95. wth i swear that it doesnt pay to be a tech geek. >< Gah feel sorry for my mum coz whenever something spoils, she's the one helping me pay the bills. Thats the irony isnt it, that teens try so much to be independent of their parents and distance their own lifestyle away from the previous generation's, in the end most of us are still so utterly reliant on them for so many things, and money's one of them.

Gah hopefully during the hols after promos i'll have some free time. If i dont make it as ogl, i'll go find a job and earn my own keep, so i wont have to leech off my parents' hard earned money $$.

IMCB is finally over. I guess one small part of me really wanted to get out of that place coz the work we did wasnt exactly the most groundbreaking or exciting. >< haha gotta google the name of the organism before signing up next time.

But on the other hand, a big part of me didnt want it to end. Even tho the profs over there were sucky teachers, they were always patient and tolerant of us. And by patient i mean very very patient. We were like slacking all over the place leaving our lab tables all messed up when we left and constantly asking them why something was like this or like that. It's sad to say that the group of boys from RI left a bad impression on me. They were like swearing in front of girls, playing games on the computers, and just acting immature in general. Almost makes me feel embarrassed as a Rafflesian.

But over the 3 days i've made tons and tons of new friends. That wouldnt have been possible if i had just spent those 3 days in sch, and its a good thing that most of them were from other schools, so i really got a good feel of how the culture in other schools realy differs from that of RJ. To Vivian, Fenny, Olivia, Yun Lin, SeeKai, Michelle, Vithya, Adelyn and all the others whom i talked to, thanks for making my experience at biopolis a rewarding, fun-filled experience. <3

PS. Haha was having lunch at the food court today when SURPRISE, i ran into eechong, or rather, he bumped into us. Turns out he was here to receive the A* scholarship award. Good on you man, hope you spend the money wisely :P

I must really thank Dr. Wong... Did not completely understand Halogen derivatives, and she took time off to personally coach me yesterday. She's the definitely the best chem teacher I had ever encountered ;)

And... NAFFA "retest" was screwed. Missed better grade for 3 stations by either 1cm or 0.1 second. Damn pissed... But someone is definitely more pissed than me over this... Won't say who, sekali he come and destroy me... Didn't have energy to run 2.4 km, probably running on Monday afternoon. Dropped from AAABD to AABBE. Silver to bronze. Sigh.... Will train hard for J2.

Today... Played Frisbee, got owned by all other classes. I just can't play frisbee for nuts. More of hinderance than help. Ankle got owned by some guy who knocked into me. Hopefully it won't affect me for my run on Monday.

Today's experience at imcb was much better than yesterday's. No more stoopid extraction of yeast cells its just working with them now. Just basic electrophoresis and using a membrane to imprint proteins before staining them so the bands become visible for analysis. It was actually much more interesting to be able to handle the gel and squeeze tiny amounts of cells into the "wells" in the gel ourselves, then like transfering the gel with the protein bands on them onto the membrane, hoping that the gel wouldnt slide off the glass plate prematurely or tearing when we were cutting away the excess pieces :P

haha i got to eat at the Ghim Moh marketplace for the first time. The food's nothing special but their sugar cane juice comes in a man big mug and is soooo addictive. Haha more more. Yun Ling queued up for char keow teow which was supposed to be quite famous but it turned out quite a disappointment just some brown stuff with mussels and lard ><

Oh and the RG girls are quite crazy. They got bored while waiting for their results and they just started playing this sadistic game where one girl would hold the other girl's hand and the two would play scissors paper stone and the loser would get rapped on the arm. One of the girls (Xian Ying i think) was damnn pro at this she literally never cringed even when the other girls were slapping her on the wrist and recoiling when she whipped theirs and her skin was so red but apparently it doesnt hurt. And she totally owned all the other girls. RESPECT.

Yes... if anyone observed carefully enough, I was shaking all over, as if I was standing on a badly oiled engine. And... I paused a bit too long between the attention and dismissal command... Other than that, hopefully it went quite well...

After bio practical, nose bled... again. Funny part is that while trying to stop the blood flow, I walked by a tv screen saying something about blood donation drive >_>. And... RI has a new table soccer machine, and if those sec 1s continue playing it like they did today, it will be a BATTERED machine by the end of this week. No payment system, no glass cover, ball provided by players. Ball = table tennis ball.

Still have Chem tutorial and Econs case study to do. So... gotta run.

HIhi! Lol right now using the student's comp at imcb to blog hopefully no one catches me hehe. Wow the first thing that hit me when i met the rest of the group was that there are so few guys. Gah i'm the only guy from the group from rj and the rest are all girls: Vithya, Yun Ling, Michelle and Adelyn (think spell wrong lol)

Gah right now we're generating tons and tons of samples of yeast that have their ability to separate from each other during budding removed, so the daughter cells are stuck to the mother cells. No way to tell whether we're doing it right because we're not using microscopes, just micropipettes for now :P Grp mates are Vivian from naval base sec, and Fenny from TJC! Haha imba girls its impossible to not laugh around them, esp the TJC ones.

Thats me, Vivian (sec 3 only leh), Fenny, and her friend Gita. Doctors in the making? :P

Zha dan we're making samples non stop i wanna run off to SAFRA asap.... XD

*Update*
Whee! finally i've stopped making mutated yeast! Ran off from imcb at 6 and took the mrt straight to yishun. Managed to catch up with the rest of the club @ sakae sushi but by then they finished all the zzomggxx amt of food already left only the scraps for meeeee boohoo. Oh well we narrowly lost to HC but there's no shame in being 2nd! Jiayou we'll be champions next year! Gah sooo tired -____-ZZz.

Wowee tomorrow's gonna be a packed day. It's gonna be my first ever attachment, to imcb no less looking forward to it. Nvm the fact that my mentor's gonna be a china dude and no one else from my class's going. Just hope i wont accidentally break some test tube and unleash a virus on the world ;)

Gah why do shooting finals need to be tml too... rest of the club will be taking a day off sch and heading down to safra to cheer their hearts out for the rest of the team, while i'll be stuck at imcb wondering if we're winning.. (wth of course we're gonna be winning). Haha hopefully the first day will end quickly so i can chiong down and celebrate, regardless of the result. It's unnerving that sometimes we have to make a choice between 2 things we want the most, and often we're left wondering if that was the better one. Who knows...

Gah just got back my GP test today. Quite ok i think i did my essay quite well a respectable grade overall, but still its not much of a consolation considering the fact that i royally screwed up my sciences. Bleah better now than later i guess. That's the irony with exams, everyone hates them but everyone needs them to gauge where they stand even tho they often wont admit it (: Haha and now promos are approaching fast! Less than 7 weeks to go..arrrggghhh *runs around in circles*.

haha enough with the angst! Was walking around the school during break today and i couldnt help but notice lots of panda heads decorating the walls and hanging from ceilings. Yay gogo shooting! Only thing was someone was obviously in a hurry to churn them out so some of them ended up with snarls and >_O and ._> faces thx councilors but lol watch the quality control k?

haha today's chem prac session was sooo funny. Mr Wong was demoing to us how to carry out the procedure for titration properly and we were all standing around him watching and distracting him with silly comments.

eg.
me: "Mr Wong, if you keep sweating you're going to contaminate the titrant, won't be accurate anymore (:"

And imsure that someone from 3F cut himself with a pipette. Flex too much?

Got back GP Compre... Got the same as Tabby... But... can't believe it, she managed to get an A with that compre mark by making it up for essay... 43/50. I can never get that >_<

Pretty boring day otherwise. After a short gym session with Zheng Jie, went on for Bio. Bio H3 is man hard, can't understand much. Perhaps I should consider changing to Econs.

With regard to Chris' message, no, I am not from 3G, I am from 3F. And... all thanks to your chem teacher, that guy broke the pipette. So, blame the teacher. Haha. Wednesday timetable tomorrow, only... 4 hours of school. Yes..... Can spare some time to play table tennis a bit and catch up with my revision for promos, which chris kindly reminded, is on ly 7 weeks away.
