A humbling experience.

Pretty much sums up my nationals. I felt that we did the best we could, but our performance this year pales in comparison to that of last year.

I had a choice; I knew that if i held on to the gun too long i'd start shaking and my shot would go haywire, but most of the time I held on anyway and sure enough, the shot went off. Had to get called back by Joanna half a dozen times throughout for advice on wrist-lock and trigger finger and alignment. In the end leonard shot 532, thanks to his accidentally loading 2 pellets into his gun and shooting a 4 and 2, tuck heng 526 and 527 for me. It wasn't the best of scores, but it did get us 3rd, and miraculously enough, we beat CJC by 1 point. Slimmest of margins.

And afterward everyone gathered around to cam whore a bit. Some funny moments where the j1 exco gathered for a pic, and purposely put eunice and jon koh together. Like poles repel =] Then we went to Fish and Co. at Glass House for dinner. Daniel Randy and Perry the j3s joined us and the 20+ of us sat together and dined and talked lots of kok. I kept asking the waiters to refill my kola tonic for me so in the end the price went down to $1 per glass. Shiok right? And at the end we celebrated Ruru and Vanessa's birthday. 17 years old gulp.

Ack it's just starting to dawn on me that my life at rjshooting's coming to a close. Sure there's still school trainings to go to but now that the j1s are all starting to grow into their roles as shooters and exco and a batch, prolly we'll be seeing and talking to each other less. Then there's prelims and A's to worry about now, so even if I had the time to go down, I can just imagine giving myself excuses to give training a miss.

I'm gonna miss training at safra; even the monotonous lectures with coach had their funny moments, and the adrenalin rush of shooting finals with wil, leo, lala, jo and ruru. I'm gonna miss playing para para at the arcade after training, trading gossip at macs @ northpoint, and slacking on the train home.

And so on 6/7/07 we said our final goodbyes to safra and walked down that rock path for the last time in probably a long time. Man i'm gonna miss that place..

ABUNDANT PEACE :)
